Résumé

Graduate Record Examination
I took the Graduate Record Examination in early August 2011, after studying intermittently but assiduously when leisure permitted (since it was during this summer that I held a seasonal job). I hope to eventually enroll in graduate level classes in Geology, and felt fortunate to have attained above-average marks in the GRE. Specifically:
Verbal Reasoning Percentile Rank: 98
Quantitative Reasoning Percentile Rank: 82
Analytical Writing Percentile Rank: 72
I believe these Verbal Reasoning and Analytical Writing scores evidence my affinity for communication, while the Quantitative Reasoning score demonstrates my ability to synthesize and relay information expressed in mathematics, the language of science.
Although I was tentative and jittery about taking the test, and brooded over cancelling the appointment several days before the exam, I'm glad I completed it! The results bolstered my confidence and helped me feel encouraged about going on to procure an advanced degree (albeit, not immediately).
